Materi: Common noun (kata benda umum) dan proper noun (kata benda khas)
Common nouns and proper nouns are two types of nouns used in English. Here is a brief explanation of both:
1. Common Noun:
Common nouns are nouns that are used to refer to people, places, or things in general without referring to specific names. Common nouns do not begin with a capital letter unless they begin a sentence or are in a position that requires a capital letter.
Examples of common nouns: dog (dog), city (city), book (book), girl (girl), and car (car).
2. Proper Noun (Typical Noun):
A proper noun is a noun that is used to refer to the specific name of a person, place, or thing. Typical nouns always start with a capital letter, even if they appear in the middle of a sentence.
Examples of proper nouns: London (London), John (John), Paris (Paris), Mount Everest (Mount Everest), and Toyota (Toyota).
The main difference between common and proper nouns is that proper nouns refer to specific names while common nouns refer to general categories of people, places, or things. So, when you talk about something in general, you will use a common noun, but when you refer to something specific, you will use a proper noun.
